Dear Miles and all at SOA,
A quick note to let you know that I shall be thinking of you all and raising a glass at some appropriate point next weekend. Unfortunately, once again, I’m unable to join you for the dinner from Sydney this year despite the added attraction of the World Cup being on. (It was particularly disappointing to miss the dinner last year given I was in the country but since we were away in the New Forest celebrating my Mum’s 80th birthday I think that was understandable!). I don’t know if Chris is going this year??
I’m pleased to advise you that last month I was elected President of my former playing club in Australia, Nondescripts Cricket Club. Despite having only one team and no fixed home ground, Nondescripts is well over 100 years’ old making it pretty venerable in Australian terms and of course, a fair older than SOA too.
Anyway, I wish everyone a wonderful evening as always and look forward to reading all of the 2015 match reports in due course.
