Lost by 2 Wickets
SOA 229 for 9 dec (Alex Ross 73, Lewis North 31, Dave Ferris 39)
Banbury 232 for 8Â
SOA fell 2 wickets short as Banbury steered the a very even game of cricket home in the final overs.
Having "won the toss" the SOA elected to bat. Finding themselves 68-4 the SOA got off to a sticky start, but a cultured 73 from Rossi kept the socre board ticking over, his 60 run partnership with L. North (31) laid a better foundation. Dave Ferris "wheel" anchored the lower order with a lovely 39 to see the SOA finish on 229-9 from 53 overs.
A birght start to the second inings as the host were quickly reduced to 7-3. Charlie Pearson (2-32) and The Ferris wheel (2-51) putting on the pressure in the overs before tea.
Banbury's middle order settled in after tea, Ali Short (72) and Ben Maddison (47) set up the finish against the SOA spin trio of "Monsieur Le President" Foster, Jack North (2-52) and debutant Dylan Biggs.
Banbury finishing on 232-8 with 2.4 overs of the match remaining. The SOA just 1 wicket away from victory as Banbury had lost a player during the tea interval, rumour has it he fainted when he saw Bob give and LBW in favour of the SOA.
