After the summer's glorious weather, players didn't quite know what the wetness in the air was. The President decided his merry men would bat first in a 40-overs game, due to the forecast of rain later. Tight bowling from AJ's lads kept the total at the break to 233-7, the runs being spread out between the batters.

Lunch/tea (Ed: the President and family had produced a sumptuous meal) was enthusiastically taken by players and supporters. Unfortunately, while we were eating, the sky had darkened dramatically. Play did start but only for ten overs. Game abandoned. Time for more food. All stayed and indulged, for which the President was truly grateful. He said: "I enjoyed the day immensely and hope all involved did too. Thanks to KBCC - and to everyone who came. FABULOUS."
