A good bunch assembled on a fine day in Shiplake, The SOA were forced to bat as the President had got his travel timings from Banbury completely cocked up.

We got off to a solid start with Shriaz and Ayazaz keeping the run rate ticking over, there where solid contributions from Alex Ross 40 and Pres Ed 40 and with Shiraz being run out on a well hit 88. SOA declared on 7/198 which was what was thought to be a gettable total.

After a lovely green Thai chicken curry for tea we set about the task of winning, Bishop (5ov 3-6) and Basford opened up and with superb bowling by Bishop he had quickly dismissed the opener’s, there was a steady fall of wickets with only Lewis Crearer putting up any fight. We had them 9 down with 6 overs to go and with Muhammad Saqib (8ov 2-14) bowling some lovely off spin we fell short, and the match was drawn.

It was then off to the Flowering Spring for a solid debrief.
