Feedback from Malcolm Alder in Australia

Dear Dick, Colin and all other fellow SOA members,

I just received the invitation to the Annual Dinner on 15 October which unfortunately, I shalln’t be able to get to. However, in reading I saw the referenced to the “ground breaking” season so thought I would go and have a look at the website which I’d not been to for a little while. I assume the reference was to the T20 game, the use of an iPad scoring app and the general refreshment of the website.

Can I say as an Australian-based and proud SOA member, I was quite taken aback with the quantum step up in the website both in quality and currency including a very recent photo gallery (my brother seemed to be enjoying himself sitting on the bank at Radley waiting to go in to bat) and results updates – the game at Marlow Park sounding like it must have been very exciting at the end. I am of course always heightened in my thoughts of SOA each August as I think of you all heading off on tour.

We will be back in England en famille early next August for the first week of the Olympics and for a few weeks prior so I’m extremely keen to manage a game or two in 2012.

For now, can I wish everyone the best for the dinner. I’m delighted to see Knoxy will be the next President.

If it’s of any relevance or interest to anyone, please feel free to share how appreciative when of the club’s more distant ex-pat members is for the connectivity I always feel to the club and how the step up in our use of technology is enhancing that greatly.

Congratulations and sincere thanks to all of you.

Malcolm Alder
